Radiesse is a soft tissue filler that is different from the hyaluronic acid fillers (Juvederm, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Restylane or Perlane).

Radiesse is made of calcium-based microspheres (calcium hydroxlyapatite) that stimulate your skin to produce new collagen. The results are immediate and long-lasting but not permanent.

Radiesse  can be injected in smile lines, marionette lines, cheeks and facial atrophy (thinning of cheek fat). The product can last up to one year and then is resorbed.

Care must be used in areas such as the lips, as Radiesse can produce lumpiness. The advantage of Radiesse is that it requires few injection treatments. Like the other dermal fillers, lumpiness, nodules, temporary bruising, or redness can result.
