Facial Peel for Sun Spot Correction
Sunspots, also known as actinic keratoses (AK), are now considered evidence of precancerous skin. These flat, scaly or crusty growths often appear on areas of the body frequently exposed to the sun such as the face, ears, lips, backs of the hands and forearms, bald scalp, shoulders and neck. A way to help prevent these sunspots is to get a regular facial peel, or chemical peel.
Trichloroacetic acid peels (TCA) come in a variety of strengths. Dr. Mandell-Brown at The Mandell-Brown Plastic Surgery Center uses 15%, 25% and 35% to resolve blotchy skin, wrinkles and texture issues. This facial peel can be performed three to four times per year.
