Lower Body Lift (Belt Lift)

What is a 360 degree body lift?

A 360-degree body lift (also known as a circumferential body lift or belt lipectomy) is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to remove excess skin and fat from the midsection of the body.

This surgery is often sought by individuals who have experienced significant weight loss, such as after bariatric surgery, leading to loose, sagging skin around their abdomen, hips, lower back, and buttocks.

Dr. Mark Mandell-Brown

Dr. Mandell Brown is a nationally recognized, triple board-certified cosmetic surgeon with over 30 years of experience performing facial, breast, and body procedures. Known for his Natural Look™ cosmetic surgery results, Dr. Mandell-Brown has the credentials and aesthetic eye to precisely tailor your procedure and safely achieve the results you desire.

The procedure typically involves the following steps:

  • Incisions: The surgeon makes an incision that extends around the circumference of the body, usually along the belt line.
  • Skin and Fat Removal: Excess skin and fat are removed from the targeted areas to contour and reshape the midsection of the body.
  • Muscle Tightening: In some cases, your cosmetic surgeon may also tighten the underlying abdominal muscles, which can become stretched or separated (a condition known as diastasis recti).
  • Repositioning and Tightening the Skin: The remaining skin is then redraped and sutured to create a smoother, more toned appearance.

You will be required to wear a compression garment to reduce swelling and support the new contours of the body. The recovery time for a 360-degree body lift varies depending on the individual and the extent of the surgery, but generally involves several weeks of recovery. Patients need to take time off work and avoid strenuous activities during this period.

As with any surgery, there are risks and potential complications, such as infection, bleeding, scarring, and issues with wound healing. It’s important to consult with a qualified cosmetic surgeon to discuss their goals, the procedure’s details, and potential risks and benefits.
