RHA® Dermal Fillers
As we age, we lose hyaluronic acid in our skin. The loss of this key skin component results in skin wrinkles and folds around the mouth. To treat this, Dr. Mandell-Brown offers injectable fillers like RHA (Resilient Hyaluronic Acid) in Cincinnati.

What is RHA® Collection filler?
RHA 2, 3, 4, and Redensity are injectable gels made of hyaluronic acid. RHA filler has a soft and natural feeling. It is great to fill out acne scars, creases around the mouth, and cheeks. Rather than limit muscle function to smooth out wrinkles like Botox, RHA actually fills the wrinkle to diminish its appearance. Further, it is the only dermal filler FDA-approved for dynamic lines and wrinkles, designed for dynamic facial movement.
What can I expect from the RHA dermal filler treatment?
Your filler treatment at Mandell-Brown will likely last half an hour or less. We will first discuss your goals, and help select the best treatment formula and injection areas for your needs. Before the treatment begins, the skin at and around the injection site will be cleansed with an antiseptic. A numbing cream may be used at the time of treatment to maximize your comfort. At the chosen injection site, your plastic surgeon will carefully inject the RHA solution using a fine needle and a special technique. Keeping in mind the importance of aesthetic sensitivity, your plastic surgeon may gently massage to area to ensure proper placement of the product.
Dr. Mark Mandell-Brown is a frequent speaker at national soft tissue filler training programs.
RHA Filler Aftercare and Results
After your dermal filler treatment, you may be able to return to work or resume your regular routine. However, your plastic surgeon may ask you to avoid sun exposure, alcohol, and exercise for several hours. Side effects are mild and usually short-lived but may include redness, mild bruising or swelling.
The remarkable results of your RHA treatment may be immediately obvious and can last around three months, but up to a year for some patients. As the product begins to be naturally absorbed by your body, you may wish to return to Dr. Mandell-Brown for a touch-up treatment to maintain the effect.

RHA filler Alternatives
There are numerous injectables that may serve as alternatives or complements to RHA filler. Here is a list of some other injectables we offer, as well as the duration of results you can expect from each:
- Lasts up to 3 months: Restylane is a comparable injectable filler offered by Dr. Mandell-Brown that may achieve a similar effect.
- Lasts 3-4 months: Botox® Cosmetic and Daxxify™will also reduce facial wrinkles, but these neuromodulators do not fill lines—rather, they minimize muscle contraction, allowing wrinkles to smooth out.
- Lasts up to 1 year: RHA Redensity™ is ideal for perioral wrinkles; Radiesse is a collagen-stimulating calcium hydroxlyapatite dermal filler.
- Lasts up to 15 months: RHA 2 adds back lost volume and fills dynamic wrinkles; RHA 3 addresses marionette lines and oral commissures; RHA 4 adds natural-looking volume to moderate to severe dynamic folds and deeper deficits.
- Lasts up to 2 years: Sculptra is a collagen-stimulating poly-L-lactic acid dermal filler.
- Permanent: Facial fat transfer involves harvesting fat with liposuction from areas like the flanks or thighs; purifying the fat; and precisely re-injecting it into your facial contours.
